Bio: Ozz was born in Toronto (Canada) raised at Sherbourne and Carlton near Bleaker Street then, later in life moving to Bloor. The changes in setting have allowed and maximized his versatility music wise and life in general. Not many rappers automatically fall into a place in the game especially if you are white. However events and struggles throughout Ozz’s life have a have allowed himself to express in a manner that anyone can relate too. Ozz found guidance from the streets after his father left at the age of 2. Ozz found he could express himself musically at a young age. He then built onto his musical foundation as, a house does to a basement. Ozz was then arrested twice in middle school which was not beneficial in anyway. Due to his mother being sick, Ozz just wanted to contribute any money he could to deliver a little bit of ease to various situations. Approaching grade eight, Ozz was scared of peer’s opinions on him rapping. His lyrics were always true however, people judged him on his skin color often commenting in derogatory manors. The negativity fuelled him to hustle harder to fund his chosen lifestyle. Ozz was now serious in the path he had chosen, he then; corrected his flow, became more lyrical, and expressed situations the general public could feel… on beats. Ozz was immensely troubled confused in high school he just recited to himself “I can do this, I just need to believe I can and then do it, instead of just saying I will eventually.” That instant Ozz knew he would be ready for whatever the rap game would bring to him. Ozz is now striving for the common goal of a major label record deal and is accompanied by his manager in the process and struggle to be the predator not the prey in the industry.

There is nothing like finding a young artist that can rap with the best of them. That’s what this list represents. There is no specific order (But you can vote for your favorite artist) we just wanted to reward 10 young artist’s who really put in work this year. All these guys are artist’s you should look out for in the future. Let’s get into the list…
Raheem
A co-sign from Famous helped bring our attention to Raheem’s smooth style and above average talent for his age bracket. His newest single Let’s Ride was one of the ladies favorites on the site this year. He also performed at 106 and York in August and killed it! Be on the look out for his new mixtape I Am Prince Vol. 2.
Charron
What can we really say about Charron; both of his battles in Canada’s official battle league (KOTD) were unanimous decisions over his competitors. His flips are crazy and his lines are witty. He is defiantly the hottest battler in the league under 20 years old and that alone is enough for him to make the list.
TechRymes
Most known for his laid back style and clever punch lines, Tech Rhymes is an underrated MC who deserves more shine. He released a crazy mixtape this year and has done many notable features for artists such as Suspect and D-Pryde. Monsta Tech’s rep is going to continue to grow in 2010 and pretty soon everybody will realize that this kid is a problem!
Ozz
This artist hit Toronto by surprise! His newest mixtape Toronto’s Lost Package showed Ozz’s true love for hip-hop and the Toronto scene. With both crazy dubs and sick original tracks, Ozz constructed a very good mixtape and an even better rep as an elite young spitter. With bigger and better features planned for the lost package Vol. 2, Ozz is another young cat to look out for in 2010.
Raedelz
From Canadian Hip-Hop group Dabarkadaz, Raedelz has gotten his name out there by killing verses on featured tracks. Not only that, his mixtape The Rookie Year gave his fans a solid body of work to listen to. Although he is most known for his single “Put it on the Map (Feat. D-Pryde)” Delz has shown he is more than a 1 hit wonder with tracks like Oh No (Feat. J. Reyez & Kody) (Prod. By Young K), and Die For (Feat. Matt D). Delz is now working on a new project which will feature new material as well as original production. Rappers be careful, Delz will eat your food on your own track.
Brandon Brown
He producers, he raps, he sings, he mixes, he does it all and he does it well. Brandon Brown is a young artist coming up in the game and is one of the few artists with an album that you can listen to front to back. His album I Made That was one of the best albums we received from a Canadian artist all year. Brandon is also the only artist under 20 to receive our Artist of the Month award on Big Mouths. He is currently in the studio working on another project and we can only expect bigger and better things for this man in the near future. Good job Mr. Brown!
Kody
Kody is a 16 year old monster. He has already had a video on much music, done a track with Royce 5’9″, and has already bin in DJ Premier’s studio. That’s pretty damn good for 16, not to mention his countless number of YouTube videos he released this year. Kody is defiantly among the best Rapper’s in Toronto already and may blow up sooner than you think. He has proven time and time again that he has tons of talent and a good grasp on true hip-hop. You heard it hear 1st, this kid is promising.
J.Reyez
The J. R.E.Y.E.Z! Reyez is another one of those artists that does it all (Rap, sing, produce, edit, direct, etc.). He is also another artist that is underrated. Reyez brings true rhymes and well thought out songs to the Canadian scene and deserves more props. His new music video “Mind’s Motivation (Feat. Chris Jackson)” is a perfect example of his love for the game. He also did tons of shows this year and released an incredible mixtape (One Step Closer). J. Reyez will be making some huge moves in the near future for Toronto.
Tory Lanez
Tory Lanez, 17 years old and killing the game already. Tory has already bin on flow 93.5, he has a music video going to much music in early 2010, and his mixtape created the 2nd most downloads off our website this year! He has bin pretty quiet since the release of his tape but we do know he is working on another project already and will be releasing new material soon. Lanez has also bin killing the shows, he has already opened for Bobby Valentino. He has a lot of haters fallowing him and his rep but hey, the more haters you have the better your doing.
D-Pryde
I am still shocked at D-Pryde’s skill at the age of 16 (just turned 16 too!). He is a young rapper with one of the biggest fan bases for an underground rapper in ALL of Canada. D-Pryde released 2 mixtapes this year including his latest “No… Rly Now”. Apart from that he has hooked up with both Boi 1da and August Rigo for collaborations (2 of Canada’s most respected producers). Pryde also does a lot of comedy videos and songs which has helped him gain fans and buzz over this past year. The way things are going for this kid he just might be one of the next rappers to blow on an international level. Our hats go off to D-Pryde for his grind this year and we wish him the best.
