Artist of the month: Gully Tha Kid
Gully has bin bringing it for a while now. So we decided he was the hottest artist on the site this month (July). From singles, to many features on mixtapes, and he even accomplished to be one of our best interviewers thus far. He was clearly the man making the most moves this month. Summary:
TCM is back with the 2nd installation to there Maple Leaf Legacy and the fans will not be disappointed! I’m personally not a big Mixtape fan but when TCM drops a tape I always know they are going to have the hottest home grown tracks out. This mixtape has just that with artists such as Sense, Gully, JD Era, Luu Breeze, and Pat Stay you can’t really go wrong. This tape is non-stop hot tracks from start to finish. When I say non-stop, I mean no annoying DJ pull backs and no talking over the songs. This mixtape is set up how all mixtapes should be – quality tracks from the hottest artists with NO bullshit. Aside from Drake’s So Far Gone this mixtape is the most album ready release in 09. Another asset to this mixtape is there is something for everyone on it. From Pat Stay’s track about his troubles with booze to Sense’s live track about running the future, TCM reaches all listeners of hip-hop and R&B.
The Stars:
When it comes down to the stars, Maple Leaf Legacy Vol. 2 is a solid 4 on the mixtape scale. I can’t lie, it’s not my favorite mixtape from TCM but it is defiantly in my top 3.
