*Model Evolution* Featuring J Steele/ Image Consulting

We kick started our Model Evolution last month with Chippy Ellis from NYC and since then we have been getting alot of emails regarding Our Catergory Model Evolution.

Over the last 40 years heels have become more dominant in not only the fashion world but in the workplace too. Why is it that they dish out so much money on these uncomfortable shoes. Many women feel that it makes them feel sexier but the question is : do we actually look sexier too? Also, heels give you a great posture( curves the back) and gives you height so it makes you feel confident.  So if this is why women wear heels, why do men like women in heels. Trends for Fall o9′ & Winter o9′ & 10′

With fall’s arrival and with winter around the corner, women everywhere are excited to see the latest fashion for fall o9 & winter o9/10.

Unlike previous years, the leather jacket is not only thing in; although it does seem to be fairly popular this year. This year expect to see leather leggings, skirts, pants and much more.

The one shoulder look is definitely in for night on the town. One strap dresses are sexy yet don’t reveal too much so you’ll always be feeling comfortable.

Knee high boots are back and seem like there going to  be bigger than ever this year. As hard as they are get on, there just something that you’re not going to be able to without this season.

Women are always looking to buy the perfect coat but what a hard mission it can be. This winter a variety of things are in. Coats with:

• Big buttons
• colours: black, grey and navy
• military style
• high collar
• highlighted waist
• tweed
• leather

These are just a few trends for this year. This winter’s suppose to be a cold one so why not dress warm and look great while doing it.

PEREZ.. WTF were you thinking?!?!

As we all know, infamous blogger, Perez Hilton isn’t he nicest person. He makes fun of everyone for anything he possibly can but  loves to especially criticize people’s sense of style. So when i came across this picture, I laughed and wondered what the hell was he thinking and how a man dressed in a night gown  to the launch of his site “coco perez” can mock other people’s outfits. His site’s catch phrase is, ” where celebrities meet fashion.”  I guess Perez didn’t have the chance to meet with a mirror this particular day.

Born:   Shyan Anthony Ellis in Long Island, New York to Jamaican immigrants on April 20^th 1985 which is also home to music legends such as Busta Rhymes, Keith Murray, Prodigy of Mobb Deep, EPMD, Rakim, De La soul, and Mariah Carey.  During the the  80s and early 90s  New York City’s crime rate was through the roof and his father- much to his  mothers  disapproval decided that the family  would resettled in the Torres dale housing apartments in North York  Toronto, Canada.  As a child  he was very bright , he always seemed to command the centre of attention amongst his peers and teachers at school but a lot of times this lead  him to get  into a lot of trouble  whereas he often spent much of his time in the principal’s office and in detention centers . Eventually he was sent back to New York City whereas he developed a deep love for rap music. His uncles where major influences on his love for hip hop often playing everything from LL Cool J to Run DMC, Big Daddy Kane and Kool G Rap… “Due to the fact that my grandmother (rip) was very religious and strict I remember having to sneak outside a lot  to listen to some of the older cats in the area  rhyme and play records”. After years of constantly moving around the family settled in the 6260 (60′z Blok) low income class housing section of Meadowvale , Sauga City . This is where  he met close childhood friend Joseph “JD Era” Dako and also earned the nickname Chippy by an O.G from the area named Genard “Crazy Crip” Green who he often spent a lot of time with . In High School he struggled with grades early on often skipping classes to run around Toronto and Mississauga with the older cats until his grandmother(rip) in New York persuaded him to switch schools and attend a catholic school in order to help him maintain focus. The change of  scenery did much for him school wise as he was able to focus on his studies and eventually got into the University Of Windsor  for studies in political science. Only after one semester of attending school he dropped out and decided to use his time to pursue his ambitions within the entertainment industry as a Ceo of  Black Ghost Ent a label he and  two friends started . Around this time he was given some advice from a friend who happened to be the cousin of music directors the Fat Cats  and he began handing out flyers and business cards around  places such as St. Andrews Hall and Club Spots like the LUSH in Detroit Michigan . Unfortunately the team fell apart due to creative differences and he was back at square one once again  ” I had no money , no job, I basically got kicked out of school , and all I had was this vision”. Around this same time a childhood friend from South Jamaica Queens convinced me to move back to New York  in order to  have a fresh start but ” my mind was so clouded at the time, I was depressed and full of anger, and to make matters worse I couldn’t find a job so when I did move back  I spent most of my time running around New York City hanging out in housing projects  dealing with  people who really had their feet knee deep in the streets and this is when I got put onto high ranking members of a New York Based East Coast Bloods street gang .

Introduction to the industry began when I was working at a grocery store and one of  my  homie’s from  Brooklyn introduced me to Legendary Brooklyn MC Chubb Rock . Initially I was hesitant to tell him about my ambitions but after a while I began to get comfortable around him because he use to come by the shop almost every week and to help make matters better  a cousin of mine knew him real well too so that kind of of broke the ice. I started to ask him questions about how I can get some kind of internship at a music label and so forth and that’s when he started to mention some names of people I could talk to he even wrote me a personal email basically giving me props and telling me to go for it and if I’m serious he will look out for me because I also think at the time he sensed that I was dealing with a lot of people from the streets. That’s when I started to really pursue this industry thing and I started meeting a lot of people , Rappers ,Producers,  DJ’s and A/R’s but eventually reality sunk in and I soon realized that the industry is a lot more harder than I thought so I decided to fall back for a while and see if I could get my income up and that’s when I started looking at different ways to make money.

Only The Family (OTF)

I use to spend a lot of time in South Jamaica , Queens  and I had already heard of    Shea ” Punch ” Davis because I was real cool with a lot of members from  the  Queens- Bronx based Only The Fam street gang like I knew a lot of their soldiers and we had a lot of the same  mutual friends . I met SHEA DAVIS’S right hand man Q life in the hood (118 Suphtin blvd) like we would run into each other all the time like I didn’t even know that he was one of their artists in the crew which is good because he saw that I was a genuine dude and that I was someone who didn’t play games  so he eventually introduced me to Shea “Punch” Davis and Bonds and they really liked and recognized my drive so I started holding them down and would be in the streets with them a lot. Q Life saw more for me as he started to persuade me to get more into  the business side of things so I started to serve as one  of the crew’s mouthpiece in order to help promote the brand OTF. It was real easy because at the time they were really respected in New York City and on top of that  rapper Shea Davis aka Punch was red hot in the streets due to all his appearances in Smack DVD and his street rep. But I was raised to all ways do me and stand on my own two feet and Q Life saw that so he started to ask me to act in cameo’s in his videos which would involve cut scene’s and that’s when I started to get real comfortable with being in front of the camera and the acting bug started to hit me . I come from a real humble background because I have  made cameo’s in a lot of underground videos everyone from HBC crew in Harlem ,  POP OFF Gang in the Bronx, FGF Fam in Long Island and ILLWAY Gangsta in Brooklyn just to name a few.

Present

I met James ” Hollywood” Clark on the humble and  he use to always tell me that I have that look of a model or actor and that he is interested in managing me through his company Born 2 Shine Entertainment  and that his brother is also a director through Clark Films and we should all really work together. It took me a while to agree because modeling is something that I never intended to do so when he I  finally  agreed James Clark hooked me up with a well known photographer and the shoot turned out great so I started to continue  to pursue it full time. Everyone was so impressed that James Clark eventually told me to audition for this independent film called NYC directed by his brother and I landed the role of Jon Jon  alongside  actor Rayan Lawrence , Recording Artist Jamal  “Readi” Buffins  and actor Bryan Pearson . Unfortunately the film wasn’t released and I began to get discouraged and started to slowly slip back into the street life when my childhood friend  / rapper Joseph ” JD ERA” Dako pleaded with me to stay on it and that if I can continue to make the transition that things will work out. I remained committed to my grind and that’s when offers started to present themselves
